It’s important to know that we all have a system within our bodies responsible for regulating the response of our immune systems, our sleep patterns, our moods, and how we experience pain and inflammation. It’s called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), and its function is to deal with the cannabinoids naturally produced by our bodies.
If you haven’t guessed it already this is a BIG DEAL.
It does this via two kinds of cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body: CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors.
CB1 is found mostly in the brain, effecting your mood and emotions. It effects a lot of things when it comes down to your appetite, even coordination, movement and pain.
CB2 works on the body, working on inflammation and the immune system, and there is a correlation between CB1 and CB2. They communicate, of course, but one is more so for the brain and one is more so for the immune system and for the body.
CBD oil does not directly affect CB1 nor CB2 receptors, what CBD does is it influences the body to naturally utilise more of its naturally occurring endocannabinoid.
The Endocannabinoid System helps fine-tune most of our vital physiological functions. It promotes homeostasis affecting everything from sleep, appetite, pain, inflammation, memory, mood, and even reproduction. So in basic terms, the ECS helps modulate the regulation of homeostasis across all major body systems ensuring that all systems work in concert with one another.
I urge you to do your own research on the function of The Endocannabinoid System. This will really open your eyes as to why hemp derived CBD can be so beneficial to you and your wellbeing.
