In the same way you’d take vitamins to boost the immune system, taking CBD will boost your Endocannabinoid System.

The Endocannabinoid System is the bodies main regulatory system made up of CB1 and CB2 receptors that help balance our immune and central nervous system, and is also involved in mediating some of physiological and cognitive effects of physical exercise

CBD Facts

Is CBD Legal?
YES! The UK along with many other European and international countries decided to legally differentiate between certain chemical compounds found in Cannabis, known as Cannabinoids.

CBD is legal in the UK if sold as a food supplement. CBD products that are produced using Cannabis Sativa L. (hemp) are able to be legally sold as food supplements. The Food Supplements Directive 2002/46/EC defines a food supplement as foodstuffs which supplement a normal diet and which are concentrated sources of nutrients or other substances with a nutritional or physical effect.

Hemp has been used as a nutritionally rich ingredient for thousands of years. Its also one of the oldest and most sustainable crops to be grown in the world.

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) has been the talk of the town in recent years. CBD doesn’t get you “high” and isn’t psychoactive like its illicit sibling THC. This has lead individual authorities to give CBD a relatively neutral classification that has meant that it is not considered by most to be a controlled substance, making it completely legal to possess, consume and sell. This legal reform has made it possible to conduct experiments and research on CBD in the UK. Even though it is derived from Cannabis, a plant that is illegal to grow and possess in the UK, it is nevertheless still 100% legal and can be freely sold, possessed and consumed recreationally.
How much CBD should I take?
Everyone responds differently to CBD. The rule is start slow and start low. If you are a new user, we recommend you start with a product that is 500mg or less and take 2-4 drops per day. When you understand the product a bit more, you can increase your dosage from there.
How quickly will CBD take effect?
It does depend on the way you take the products. Capsules typically have a slower release, while oral oils & sprays are absorbed quicker and vapes even quicker. It also depends on the carrier oil as some are more efficient than others in terms of their bio-availablity. Download our Buyer Guide for more on this
Why take CBD products?
CBD has been studied for its potential role in treating many common health issues, including anxiety, depression, acne and heart disease.

Research on the potential health benefits of CBD oil is ongoing, so new therapeutic uses for this natural remedy are sure to be discovered.

Though there is much to be learned about the efficacy and safety of CBD, results from recent studies suggest that CBD may provide a safe, powerful natural treatment for many health issues.

  • o… you’ve been taking your CBD but you’ve noticed is that you’ve starting feeling a little drowsy or lethargic.
Sometimes this is simply an indication that you took too much CBD. So, if CBD is making you tired or lethargic, the first thing to do is to lower the dose you are taking.
For example, if you’ve been taking a 25 mg dropper dose of CBD oil, you may want to lower your dose to 10 – 20 mgs.
Lowering your dose is the first thing you can do to stop any negative effects you may be experiencing with CBD products.
CBD is a compound that has biphasic properties. This simply means that CBD can have more positive effects at lower doses and more negative effects at higher doses.
Again, most people don’t experience negative side effects with CBD hemp oil. This information is only for people who seem to get that uncomfortable tired feeling from taking their regular dose of CBD oil.
  • Knee blog update: I travelled to Munich Thursday and decided not to take my CBD oil... big mistake!! Today the knee has been in pain far more than usual. Looking forward to being home and getting the drops on board. With the announcement that doctors can prescribe cannabis-based medicines on the NHS next month, could Britons see hand luggage rules when they travel change? It remains unclear at this stage whether passengers can carry cannabis-based medicines with them, and travellers are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

  • Hi, I’m Dan and this is my knee 😫 Over the next few months I’ll be sharing my experience with CBD and my, some might say rather significant knee injury.
Back in July during MMA training I twisted my knee, it popped, clicked, crunched and swelled up pretty badly!! After seeing my usual physio @Jen_c_31 there was concern for my LCL and PCL, so we rested and did exercises to help the recovery however progress was slow, so an MRI & X-ray was booked. In September I started taking CBD oil to help with the inflammation and pain. I started taking 25mg of Kannaway full spectrum MCT oil. Thank god I did. I was beginning to rattle with all the paracetamol and ibuprofen I was taking. I found it took the edge off the pain I was experiencing and the swelling all but went away!! The X-ray and MRI confirmed that I have a full tear of my ACL, partial tear of my PCL and LCL and also torn my meniscus, and the X-ray showed that my knee is misaligned. Yep... proper f**ked it 😂
Next up is a meeting with a bunch of knee specialist to discuss the best way forward, either way surgery is booked for the 14th December... my aim is to use just CBD oils and balms during my recovery!
  • Dosage...?? As a general rule of thumb this is the best advise I can give:

If you start on a high dose you will flood your endocannabinoid system. It'll work for a few weeks then you'll crash.
Start low strength, 5-10mg 1-2 times per day and then increase by 5mg after 7-10 days until you get the relief you require.

However, everyone if different and depending on your needs you may find less is more and more is less 😉
  • The Endocannabinoid System is responsible for regulating the response of our immune systems, our sleep patterns, our moods, and how we experience pain and inflammation. CBD oil does not directly affect CB1 nor CB2 receptors, what CBD does is it influences the body to naturally utilise more of its naturally occurring endocannabinoid.
